In Paris, Minister al-Shaibani discusses promoting stability in Syria

Paris, SANA – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani met in Paris on Tuesday an Israeli delegation to discuss several issues pertaining to enhancing regional stability and southern Syria.

De-escalation and non-interference in Syria’s domestic affairs, achieving understandings that promote regional stability, monitoring the ceasefire in Sweida Governorate, and reactivating the 1974 agreement were the main topics of discussions.

These discussions are being held with US mediation as part of diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting security and stability in Syria and preserving its unity and territorial integrity.

On August 12, Minister al-Shaibani met with Thomas Barrack, the US Special Envoy to Syria, and his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, in Amman.

In order to support the stability, sovereignty, and regional security of the Syrian Arab Republic, they discussed methods of improving coordination and collaboration during this tripartite meeting. They also agreed to establish a Syrian-Jordanian-US working group to assist the Syrian government’s efforts to consolidate ceasefire in Sweida Governorate and achieving a comprehensive solution to the crisis.
