President al-Sharaa issues decree appointing Finance Minister Bernieh as Syria’s Governor to World Bank

Damascus – President Ahmad al-Sharaa has issued decree No. 69 for 2025, appointing Mr. Mohammad Bernieh, the Minister of Finance, as the Syrian Arab Republic’s Governor to all legal entities within the World Bank Group.

The decree, based on the provisions of the Constitutional Declaration, stipulates the following:

Article (1): Mr. Mohammad Bernieh, Minister of Finance, is hereby named Governor of the Syrian Arab Republic to every legal entity affiliated with the World Bank Group.

Article (2): This decree shall be communicated to whom it may concern for implementation.
