UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Syria tours Maarat al-Numan in Idlib countryside

Idlib, SANA – UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Syria Adam Abdelmoula toured Maarat al-Numan in Idlib countryside on Sunday and inspected the health situation and medical services provided in the city’s health center.

Abdelmoula also toured the city’s historical museum.

At the end of his visit, Abdelmoula affirmed the UN’s commitment to continue supporting the health sector and the cultural aspect, noting that improving medical services and protecting local heritage are two main pillars of comprehensive humanitarian action.

The UN coordinator stressed the importance of strengthening co-operation with local and international partners to secure the necessary supplies and provide technical support and training for relevant personnel, in order to enhance the resilience of local communities and improve their quality of life.
