Internal Security arrests former colonel accused of war crimes

Lattakia, SANA- Internal Security Command in Lattakia announced Monday it had arrested in cooperation with the 50th Division of Defense Ministry, the criminal Colonel Ammar Muhammad Ammar, one of the war criminals who worked in the so-called “State Security Apparatus” during the former regime.

The command said that Ammar worked in “Al-Khatib” security branch and then was appointed head of the 40th branch, whose name was associated for years with crimes of torture and enforced disappearance.
He was transferred to the competent judiciary to take the necessary legal measures against him.
