Syria participates in the extraordinary meeting of Customs Directors General in Arab countries

Cairo, SANA – A delegation representing the Syrian General Authority for Land and Sea Ports participated on Monday in the extraordinary meeting of Customs Directors General in Arab countries, held to discuss ways to enhance customs cooperation and coordinate policies among member states.

The meeting, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, discussed the report and recommendations of the meeting of legal officials in the customs administrations of Arab countries, which was held from June 2 to 4, 2025.

 During the meeting, the final version of the statute of the Arab Council for Customs Affairs was reached, in preparation for its adoption and launch as a supportive institutional framework to coordinate customs policies and promote economic integration among member states.

This meeting is an advanced step towards completing the institutional structure of Arab customs work, in line with the aspirations of the Arab countries to develop regulatory and legislative structures related to cross-border trade, and enshrine the principle of cooperation and integration sought by the joint Arab action agreements in the transport and customs sector.
