Iraq refutes Suspension of Flights and Airspace Closure Claims

Baghdad, SANA- The Iraqi Ministry of Transport refuted that airspace had been closed to aircraft traffic, stressing that Iraqi airspace is open to all airlines.

In a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Ministry spokesperson Maytham al-Safi said: “The Ministry of Transport denies any closure of Iraqi airspace to aviation traffic. Reports claiming the suspension of flights between Iraq and Turkey, or vice versa, are unfounded.”

He added, “There is an influx of flights through Iraqi airspace, and our airports and airspace are open to all companies.”
