Ankara, SANA – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized that his country is closely following all developments in Syria and that the relevant agencies in Turkey are in contact with their Syrian counterparts, stressing that the Israeli aggression on Syria is currently the biggest problem in the region.
Erdogan was quoted by Anadolu news agency as saying on Thursday in a televised speech following the weekly government meeting: “Israel has extended its bullying operations to our neighboring Syria over the past two days under the pretext of protecting the Druze.
“Those who cling to Israel’s rope will sooner or later realize that they have made a huge mistake in their calculations”,” he said, noting that a stable Syria will create stability for all neighboring countries, otherwise everyone will bear the burden of this.
“Ankara has never and will never agree to the partition of Syria and its basic policy is to protect Syria’s territorial integrity and multicultural identity,” Erdogan said, emphasizing that his country stands for peace and calm in its foreign policy, efforts and diplomatic contacts.
Erdogan emphasized that Syria will overcome these difficulties thanks to the wise leadership of President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
