Health Ministry sends a medical aid convoy to sweida Governorate

Damascus, SANA- Health Ministry dispatched Sunday a medical aid convoy to Sweida Governorate comprised of 20 fully-equipped ambulances, specialized medical teams, and large quantities of medicines and first aid supplies.

Health Minister Dr. Musab al-Ali told SANA that “the convoy had been prepared several days before, but it was unable to enter Sweida due to Israeli strikes” underlining the ministry’s commitment to providing aid for all those in need across the whole country.

Minister al-Ali added that “this step came in light of latest positive developments occurred Saturday midnight in sweida, as safe corridors have been set up to reach National Hospital there in order to deliver medical aid”.

Social Affairs and Labor Minister, Hind Qabwat, underscored the importance of providing medical, food, and relief aid for Sweida people, noting that serving Syrian people is a basic job of the ministry.

Sweida Governor, Mustafa al-Bakour, also highlighted the importance of this step, following recent severe lack of food and medical supplies in the governorate.

He noted that institutions will re-activate their role in various sectors such electricity, water, telecommunications, and internet.

The convoy, was prepared by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Ministries of Emergency and Disaster Management, Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, in addition to the relevant international organizations.
