Ohnmacht welcomes delivery of humanitarian aid to Sweida city

Brussels, SANA- The European Union’s Chargé d’Affaires to Syria, Michael Ohnmacht, welcomed the delivery of the first batch of humanitarian aid to Sweida city, delivered by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC).

In a tweet posted on the X platform, Ohnmacht described the aid delivery as “a necessary step to meet urgent needs. It is essential that more humanitarian aid reaches all those in need, he reiterated.

A SARC convoy entered Sweida governorate only on Sunday, carrying food, relief and medical aid.

The Syrian government continues its mediation efforts with the parties in Sweida Governorate to de-escalate and promote reconciliation. On Monday, it began the evacuation of Bedouin families who had been trapped in Sweida city.
