Damascus, SANA- Information Minister, Dr. Hamza Al-Mustafa, stressed Monday that the Syrian government is actively working to defuse tensions in Sweida through coordinated efforts that prioritize national unity, prevent long-term societal fragmentation, and block external interference.
The Minister twitted on ” X” that “Key measures include the safe evacuation of civilians, particularly from the Bedouin community, highlighting the state’s commitment to protecting all citizens equally. Alongside this, authorities are countering incitement campaigns and mobilizing southern governorates to lead awareness and de-escalation initiatives. Humanitarian aid is being delivered to affected areas, while inter-provincial efforts are encouraged to foster solidarity and mend social fractures without discrimination”.
“Community-led initiatives are also addressing the dangers of inflammatory rhetoric, stressing that individual actions, such as those by Al-Hijri, must not be used to stigmatize entire communities. Fairness demands distinguishing between personal conduct and collective identity” the minister added.
He clarified that “On the security front, movements are being coordinated to prevent escalation, with ongoing negotiations to secure the release of detainees and clarify the fate of the missing, in partnership with humanitarian organizations.”
The minister stressed that “What Syria needs now is a unified, reconciliatory approach that places healing above revenge and shared solutions above division – laying the foundation for lasting stability and dignity for all.”
