6 killed, 12 injured in coal mine blast in northern Afghanistan

KABUL, SANA- Six people died and 12 others were injured due to an explosion inside a coal mine in northern Afghanistan’s Baghlan province.

Xinhua News Agency quoted regional mine director Mawlawi Abdullah as saying that the explosion occurred at the Karkar coal mine, instantly killing six workers and injuring twelve others who were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities did not provide further details about the circumstances of the incident.
