Ankara, SANA- Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler and his UK counterpart, John Healy, signed a comprehensive memorandum of understanding allowing Ankara to use European “Eurofighter Typhoon” fighter jets.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense said in a statement, according to Anadolu Agency, that the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding took place on the sidelines of The 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025) noting that significant progress has been made in the export of “Eurofighter Typhoon” fighter jets to Turkey, and that allowing the use of these fighters will strengthen the bonds of friendship between the major NATO allies and constitute an important step towards supporting Turkey’s advanced air combat capabilities.
The statement added that both ministers affirmed the strength of the Turkish-British partnership and the importance of long-term defense cooperation between the two countries, including existing cooperation through “NATO”.
