Athens, SANA-An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale struck the Greek island of Crete.
The Volcano Discovery website quoted the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre as saying: A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Chania on the island of Crete, at an average depth of 89.70 kilometers. The tremor was felt by residents of the area, causing windows to shatter.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
