Jakarta, SANA-A strong 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia’s West Papua region on Saturday.
The German Centre for Georesearch GEOFON said ..”The quake took place at a depth of 10 kilometers away from the region’s capital city Sorong “There was no immediate tsunami warning, reports of casualties or infrastructural damage.”
Earthquakes frequently strike various parts of Indonesia due to its location along the Pacific Ring of Fire, where multiple tectonic plates meet, causing frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
