Monsoon death toll reaches 271 across Pakistan

Islamabad, SANA-Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority announced Sunday that at least 271 people have been killed and hundreds more injured across the country due to heavy rainfall since June 26.

“Human losses resulted from house collapses, floods, drowning, and lightning,” the authority said in its latest report, Xinhua reported.

The authority confirmed that it continues to work closely with regional disaster management agencies to monitor the situation, coordinate relief efforts, and issue necessary warnings as the rainy season continues.
