4 killed, 8 missing as heavy rain soaks northern China

Beijing, SANA- Local authorities in China announced Monday that four people were killed and eight others remain missing after a landslide struck a village in Hebei Province, northern China.

Xinhua reported that the landslide, caused by heavy rains, occurred in a village in Luanping County, Chengde City, and that rescue efforts are still underway.

On the 10th of this month, Chinese authorities evacuated more than 7,000 people due to continued heavy rains in the mountainous city of Zhaotong in Yunnan Province, southwest China.
