Humanitarian delegations provide medical support in Daraa

Daraa, SANA-Two delegations from the Arab National Front and Mercy Without Borders visited Daraa Governorate on Monday to provide medical aid and assess the health situation in the governorate, in coordination with the Humanitarian Action Office at the Ministry of Health.

The Arab National Front delegation began its visit with a tour of the Daraa Health Directorate building, where they presented a range of medical supplies to support the work of hospitals and health centers.

The delegation then headed to the National Hospital in Daraa city to inspect the condition of the injured and assess firsthand the emergency and treatment departments’ needs amid current circumstances that require ongoing responsiveness.

In a related context, Daraa Health Director Dr. Ziad al-Mahamid discussed with a delegation from Mercy Without Borders ways to cooperate in supporting the health sector and the possibility of contributing to providing medical care to residents.

They also discussed the possibility of intervening in maintenance and restoration work for a number of damaged facilities.

e noted that this type of support contributes to raising the readiness of health institutions and helps fill shortages, especially in rural areas that suffer from a lack of resources and capabilities.

He added that the Directorate is working in coordination with the Ministry of Health and international organizations to upgrade the infrastructure of health centers and hospitals, and to deliver integrated services within available resources, reflecting positively on citizens’ health and the quality of services provided.
