Investigations into death of young Youssef al-Labbad, continue, Damascus Attorney General says

Damascus, SANA- Damascus Attorney General Judge Hussam Khattab affirmed the impartiality of the investigation into the death of Youssef Mohammed al-Labbad near Umayyad Mosque in Damascus.

Khattab added that legal procedure will be taken to hold those involved accountable in case a criminal act is found, in line with the authority of law.

“After we have been informed of the death of young man, Youssef al-Labbad, in a security detachment near Umayyad Mosque, we instructed Judicial and Medical Investigation Authority to immediately head for the location and begin investigations”, Damascus Public Attorney, Judge Hussam Khattab said in a statement to SANA.

Khattab added that investigations are still ongoing, waiting for the medical committee’s report, while all possible efforts will be made to ensure justice is served.
