Damascus, SANA- Syrian Information Minister, Dr. Hamza al-Mustafa, said that Israel does not view the presence of New Syria with “a positive eye,” but rather it seeks to make it divided and unstable.
“Unfortunately, some internal sides are trying to perform narrow political calculations by playing on Israeli calculations, and this is almost exactly what has happened in Sweida,” Minister al-Mustafa said in an interview with Turkish Anadolu News Agency.
Minister al-Mustafa added that everyone has to consider the situation of the Druze inside occupied Palestine as Israel supports only one group within them, and it wants to apply its experience on the Syrian situation, and it knows that the eyes of the vast majority of Syrian Druze look forward to Damascus.
The Minister stressed Syria’s constant keenness on having sovereign relations with all parties, and it bets on the people of Sweida, and rejects the sectarian discourse of outlaws.
“Those obstructing the entry of humanitarian aid into Sweida are the Hikmat al-Hajri group, while the State cannot obstruct its entry,” the Minister said.
As for meetings in Paris with the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Minister said that the meetings focused on implementing the understandings reached with them and adhering to the March 10 agreement.
“There are major political opportunities for the Syrian Democratic Forces, mainly to reach agreements that guarantee their effective presence in Syria’s future within the three main pillars that cannot be compromised; one country, one government, and one army,” the Minister concluded.
