Ankara, SANA-, Syria and Turkey announced Tuesday the establishment of the Syrian-Turkish Business Council within the Council on Foreign Economic Relations, sign 10 agreements between the two countries.
Minister of Economy and Industry Dr. Mohammad Nidal al-Shaar and Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat said in a joint statement in Ankara that ‘’the Council on Foreign Economic Relations will contribute to enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors in the two countries”.
“There will be joint work to strengthen Syrian customs gates and their infrastructure, improve procedures at customs gates, and enhance cooperation between customs authorities between the two countries’’ the statement added.
The statement indicated that both sides agreed to establish a joint economic and trade committee, sign a Turkish-Syrian memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of administrative development and governance to strengthen Syria’s institutional infrastructure, and formulate mechanisms to improve the quality of public services, in addition to identifying institutional steps to rebuild Syrian industry.
