Lattakia, SANA- The villages of Jabal al-Akrad in northern Latakia countryside witness a gradual revival of agricultural life with the continued return of residents to their villages after years of displacement.
The farmer Mohammad Ali said that residents exert more efforts to reclaim their lands despite the water scarcity, difficulty in transferring it due to lack of irrigation networks, in addition to deterioration of agricultural roads.
The member of Jabal al-Akrad Council of Elders, Ziad Andron, noted to the increased pace of citizens return despite damage caused by cutting down and fires which affected thousands of fruit trees.
Andron underlined the necessity of supporting the agricultural sector through rehabilitating roads and providing essential equipment to ensure sustainable production.
