SARC confirms its continued humanitarian work in the south despite the targeting of its convoy

Damascus, SANA-A Syrian Arab Red Crescent convoy operating as part of the humanitarian response in the southern region was under direct fires on Friday, with no casualties reported.

The organization clarified in a statement on its Telegram channel Saturday that the damage was limited to materials, with no human casualties. It confirmed that the convoy continued its mission of delivering aid to the neediest groups.

It affirmed its complete neutrality as a humanitarian organization whose goal is to support those in need, free from any bias or discrimination. It called for no attacks on its teams to preserve their safety and ensure the unhindered completion of their humanitarian missions.

“The priority remains preserving the safety of staff and ensuring the continuity of humanitarian support to those in need.” Media and Communication Director at the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, Omar al-Maliki, told SANA.

The organization will continue its efforts by all possible means to ensure that aid reaches beneficiaries in a timely manner, while strengthening protection and safety measures for all its staff in the field, according to Al-Maliki.
