A student event in Antwerp, Belgium, to help Syrian high school students choose their university major

Brussels, SANA-A number of Syrian students in the Belgian city of Antwerp organized a student event today, bringing together dozens of students. The event aimed to introduce them to the Belgian system and help Syrian and Arab high school students choose the appropriate university programs for them.

This initiative aims to support new students in understanding the admissions process at Belgian universities and familiarizing themselves with the requirements of each major. It also provides practical advice on academic guidance and choosing the most appropriate academic path that aligns with their interests and abilities.

During the event, students gave an interactive presentation on the structure of the Belgian education system and the transition from secondary school to university, highlighting the differences between scientific, literary, and vocational disciplines. Experiences were also exchanged between current university students and their secondary school peers, providing an opportunity to answer questions from the audience directly.

Student Mohammed Amin, one of the participants in the event, told a SANA reporter: “This type of event is essential for students to determine their orientations and continue their educational journey in Belgium, which will allow them to later benefit from their experiences in serving Syria.”
