Lattakia, SANA – The “Cleanliness is Culture” awareness campaign was launched Saturday in Lattakia Governorate under the slogan “Syria is Our Big Home.”
Official, popular, and volunteer activities participated, with the aim of promoting environmental awareness and instilling a culture of cleanliness as a daily, civilized behavior.
Lattakia Governor Mohammad Othman confirmed in a statement to a SANA reporter that the campaign covers all villages, towns, cities, and neighborhoods.
He hoped that cleanliness will become a societal culture and a daily habit, noting that efforts rely on volunteer teams and civil society initiatives to bring about positive change in citizens’ daily behaviors.
For her part, Lia Bayazido, founder of the volunteer organization Atharna Team, said that it is important to note the importance of involving adolescents and youth in volunteer campaigns, as this enhances the spirit of teamwork and patriotism.
“This reflects the government’s growing interest in spreading a culture of cleanliness, as the civilized appearance of Lattakia Governorate must be preserved, befitting its status as an important tourist destination-“Volunteer Umaima Suleimanou said.
