Syrian Health Minister discusses with the Syrian community in Japan enhancing medical and pharmaceutical cooperation

Damascus, SANA – Syrian Health Minister Dr. Musab Al-Ali discussed, on Thursday, with a delegation representing the Syrian community in Japan, headed by Dr. Ahmed Al-Mansour, ways of enhancing cooperation in the healthcare, technology, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as raising its quality.

The two sides discussed strengthening pharmaceutical partnerships between Syria and Japan to provide innovative medicines, exchange expertise, and raising pharmaceutical quality. They also discussed supporting training programs to qualify Syrian healthcare professionals in managing medical facilities and transferring advanced technology in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Dr. Al-Ali highlighted the importance of Japan’s support in training healthcare personnel on the use of modern equipment, as well as in rehabilitating and rebuilding damaged hospitals and health centers. He called for hospital visits to assess their needs accurately.

In turn, the delegation expressed hope to enhance cooperation with the Japanese government to support the health sector in Syria, accurately convey the health situation to the Japanese side, and expedite the establishment of cooperative relations between the two sides. It stated the support provided by Japan to Syria via international organizations.
