Fires rage in al-Ghab area and extend between houses in Hama countryside

Hama, SANA-Fires continued to spread in al-Ghab area and extended to the forests of Shatha town, western Hama countryside, as the wind speed intensified.

Director of the media office in the al-Ghab area, Ahmad al-Mustafa, said in a statement that’’ the fire broke out in the mountain range from the south towards the north, and spread in the forests to the west of Shatha and between houses on the western outskirts of the town despite the efforts made by the firefighting teams, noting that the rugged terrain, high temperatures, and prevailing drought in the region make the situation more difficult’’.

Firefighting teams intensified their operations to protect and secure civilians, stop the spread of fire to residential homes in the area, and extinguish it.
