Sweida governor: Civil peace is national necessity

Sweida,SANA – Governor of Sweida, Mustafa al-Bakour , called for giving priority to the reason, tolerance, and openness to reconciliation initiatives between the tribes and the people of Sweida.

“Based on our national and social responsibility, and in order to enhance civil peace and consolidate the values of brotherhood and cooperation among the components of our noble society, we stress the importance of seriously striving to reconcile relations between the clans and the people of Sweida, in a way that ensures unity of ranks and protects the national fabric from all that threatens it of disagreement or division” Al-Bakour said in a statement on Telegram.

Sweida Governor added the wise positions that initiate reconciliation, elevate the status of dialogue, and give priority to the public interest over narrow considerations, appreciating the role of notables and wise people in bringing viewpoints closer together and overcoming differences, in a way that reflects the authenticity of the values on which we were raised, and embodies the spirit of shared responsibility in building a cohesive and secure society.

Al-Bakour stressed that civil peace is not an option, but rather a national and moral necessity, and it is the cornerstone of any development or reform project, calling on all parties to give priority to the language of reason, be open to reconciliation initiatives, and interact positively with reform efforts, away from tension and division.
