First Syrian Airlines flight takes off to Mitiga Airport in Libya

Damascus, SANA-The first flight of Syrian Airlines took off, on Sunday, from Damascus International Airport heading to Mitiga Airport in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

This step reflects the commitment of both the Syrian and Libyan sides to boost cooperation in the field of air transport and facilitate the movement of passengers between the two countries.

Captain Samih Arabi, Director of Syrian Airlines, stated to SANA that the current flights from Tripoli to Damascus are classified as charter flights and not regular ones, as fixed days have not yet been set.

Regarding flights to Benghazi city, Arabi noted that work is underway to complete the necessary security approvals and special protocols. He pointed out that the launch of regular flights will take place soon after a delegation from the Libyan Civil Aviation visits Damascus and Aleppo airports and completes the required procedures.
