Iran’s Head of Expediency Council Rafsanjani dies of heart attack

Tehran, SANA-Iran’s former President Hashemi Rafsanjan died on Sunday, he suffered heart attack.

Head of the Expediency Council Rafsamjani, 83, was admitted today to one of Tehran’s hospitals because of illness.

Rafsanjani was speaker of the Parliament from 1980 to 1989, and then he became President of Iran from 1989 to 1997.

Later, he has become Head of the Expediency Council since 27 years.
