6.9 magnitude earthquake hits south-west of Philippine

Manilla, SANA-A 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Sarangani province in southwestern Philippines today.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said in a statement that “the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers and its epicenter was 98 kilometers east of Sarangani.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties, and no tsunami warning was issued.
