Interior Ministry launces an urgent investigation into field executions in Sweida governorate

Damascus, SANA – Interior Ministry condemned on Tuesday in “the strongest terms” the circulating videos showing field executions carried out by unidentified individuals in Sweida, affirmed that these acts are serious crimes punishable by law the most severe penalties.

The Ministry said that “the competent authorities have launched an urgent investigation to identify those involved in these crimes, pursue and arrest them”, stressed that ‘none is above the law. Anyone proven to be involved will be referred to the competent judiciary authority to receive just punishment in accordance with the provisions of the law”.
