Saudi Arabia, France call for ending the war on Gaza and implementing the two-state solution

New York, SANA- Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan al Saud, said that achieving security, stability, and prosperity for the peoples of the region as a whole starts by ensuring justice for the Palestinians and enabling them to take their legitimate rights, foremost among which is the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

“This conference represents a pivotal milestone toward finding the two-state solution, putting an end to the occupation, and achieving a just and sustainable vision for peace in the Middle East.” UN News website quoted Saudi Foreign Minister as saying at High-Level Conference on “Implementation of Two-State Solution Resumes”.

Minister Bin Farhan noted to French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement of his country’s intention to recognize the State of Palestine, saying” this announcement is a historic step that reflects wide international support for the Palestinians’ right of establishing their independent state.”

The minister went on saying “An independent Palestinian state is the key for achieving true peace in the region”, noting to the continued support provided by the Kingdom since the beginning of catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

He underscored the need to immediately halt humanitarian catastrophe caused by Israeli war, calling on all countries to join the document that will be issued at the conclusion of the conference.

During his speech at the conference, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, condemned continued Israeli starvation acts in Gaza against civilians, children and women, stressing that this war endangers security and stability of the entire Middle East region, we are launching through this conference a collective call to action to stop the war in Gaza

Barrot added: “We cannot accept targeting of civilians; women and children while they are heading to aid distribution sites”, stressing the need for the conference to be a turning point for implementing the two-state solution.
