Heavy rains and flooding in China kill at least 30

Beijing, SANA-China announced Tuesday that 30 people have died as a result of rainstorms that hit the capital, Beijing.

According to the Chinese news agency Xinhua, the Beijing Municipal Flood Control Headquarters stated that the recent storms in the city led to the deaths of 30 people most of them in the Miyun District.

More than 80,000 residents were evacuated from various parts of the city as rainfall reached 543 millimeters.
The storms also damaged 31 sections of public roads and caused power outages in 136 villages.

In response, the flood control headquarters activated the highest level of emergency response across Beijing.
