Syrian-Lebanese talks to enhance scientific cooperation

Damascus, SANA-Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Marwan al-Halabi, discussed Tuesday with Chargé d’affaires of the Lebanese Embassy in Damascus Talal Daher ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the scientific field.

Minister al-Halabi, highlighted the special and historical ties between the two countries, stressing that Syria and Lebanon are one people in two geographical regions.

He emphasized the importance to boost bilateral relations in the field of higher education, framing laws to facilitate the return of Syrian students, continuing cooperation agreements and cultural exchanges.

He affirmed the ministry’s readiness to cooperate with the Lebanese side in all fields.

For his part, the Lebanese Chargé d’Affaires highlighted the distinguished, deep-rooted, historical bilateral relations between the two countries and the coexistence between their peoples.

He underscored about the possibility of providing facilities for Lebanese students regarding residency and length of stay, noting his aspiration to strengthen relations and cooperation in the coming period.
