Homs, SANA- The Syrian Civil Defense continues intensified work in the maintenance and rehabilitation project for Rastan Bridge in Homs Governorate.
This project is being implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with funding from the United Nations Syria Humanitarian Fund (SHF), and in official coordination with Public Works and Housing Ministry.
Engineer Ali Mohammed, director of the Community Resilience Enhancement Program in the Civil Defense, explained that Rastan Bridge rehabilitation project comes after the severe damage resulted from the air raids by former regime.
Mohammed added that the work is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of 2026, noting that the work plan also includes rehabilitating temporary alternative roads to facilitate traffic flow during the work, and removing damaged parts.
Rastan Bridge serves high population density areas, as well as industrial and agricultural zones in the Homs and Hama governorates.
It also plays a pivotal role in connecting the north and south, making it a vital facility supporting public services and economic activities.
