Saudi Council of Ministers Praises outcome of Saudi delegation’s visit to Syria

Riyadh, SANA-The Saudi Council of Ministers emphasized the importance of the outcome of the Syrian-Saudi Investment Conference held in Damascus last week.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that during its meeting Tuesday, chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Council praised the outcomes of the Saudi delegation’s visit to the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, which came under the direction of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister, and affirmed the Kingdom’s unwavering support for Syria on its path toward economic growth.

The Council noted that the visit witnessed the signing of (47) investment agreements worth nearly (24) billion riyals in a number of fields, in addition to the announcement of the establishment of a joint business council to boost mutual cooperation and activate partnerships between private sector institutions in the two countries.

Concerning the Palestinian cause, The Council expressed hope that the “High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Issue,” chaired by the Kingdom in partnership with France, would contribute to accelerating recognition of the Palestinian state.

Saudi Minister of Media, Salman bin Yousif Al Amour Al Dossary, stated that the Council reiterated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcome of French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement of his country’s intention to recognize the State of Palestine, calling on other countries to take similar steps and take supported positions for peace and the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people.
