Berlin, SANA-Jordanian King Abdullah II emphasized the importance of supporting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as a key factor for its recovery and permanent stability.
At a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in, Berlin, the Jordanian King affirmed that the “stability of Syria is important for the stability of the entire region”.
He emphasized that the continued international support for Syria is essential to avoid a recurrence of the crisis, support Syrians in rebuilding their country and to ensure its security, stability, and prosperity for all its people.
On the Palestinian issue, King Abdullah called for an end to Israel’s war on Gaza urging the international community to act quickly to stop hunger and suffering, establish a lasting ceasefire, and respect international law.
“Letting children starve in Gaza is a shame for all humanity” king Abdullah said.
The King warned that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is severe and the situation in the West Bank is critical, risking a wider regional conflict due to Israeli actions.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that Germany supports talks for a two-state solution as the best path to peace.
He mentioned that recognizing Palestine is being considered but is not planned now; it will be necessary to achieve peace soon.
He called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, release of detainees, an end to Palestinian suffering, quick aid delivery, and a permanent ceasefire.
