After Kamchatka earthquake:  Tsunami waves reach Hawaii, Warnings are issued in several countries

Capitals, SANA-The first tsunami waves reached the US state of Hawaii following the earthquake that struck off the Kamchatka Peninsula in far eastern Russia Wednesday at dawn, amid warnings of further waves in several US regions.

Reuters reported that Hawaii’s emergency management called on residents to take extreme caution and head to higher ground, while authorities in California also issued warnings of the possibility of tsunami waves reaching its shores, and the danger level was raised in several areas, including San Luis, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles.

In a post on his Truth Social account, US President Donald Trump announced that “a tsunami warning is in effect for Alaska and the Pacific Coast of the United State, and Japan is also in the way.

In China and Peru, authorities issued warnings in several coastal areas, while authorities in Ecuador ordered a “precautionary evacuation” of beaches in the Galapagos Archipelago.
