Damascus, SANA- Sheikh Laith al-Balous, a leader in the Men of Dignity Movement, stressed the necessity of working according to a purely Syrian agenda concerned that serves Syrians and building a state of law and justice.
In a phone call with Al-Arabiya TV, he emphasized that national reconciliation and comprehensive dialogue are the way out of the crisis and protecting Syria.
Al-Balous called for “rejecting sectarianism and replacing hate speech with the language of dialogue and cooperation” praising the Syrian government’s efforts to assist the people of Sweida and providing all facilities to shelter displaced families.
He explained that the destruction inflicted on the governorate by outlawed armed groups has made neighborhoods uninhabitable, noting that coordination is underway with the governor of Sweida and relevant Syrian government officials to rebuild and return residents to their homes.
Al-Balaous explained that the Men of Dignity Movement is present in Sweida Governorate to directly supervise the deplorable conditions that have befallen the governorate.
He explained that there are parties working to incite strife by spreading false news promoted by figures linked to foreign parties and had previously ties with the former regime.
Al-Balous emphasized that the Men of Dignity Movement will not allow Sweida to be dragged into a spiral of chaos.
He praised the stance of the former leader of the Progressive Socialist Party in Lebanon, Walid Jumblatt, regarding the crisis in Sweida, and his support for Syria’s unity and sovereignty.
