London, SANA-Britain reiterated on Wednesday its continued support for the Syrian people, affirming its commitment to provide ongoing assistance.
“The United Kingdom stands with the Syrian people and will continue to do so,” British Special Envoy to Syria Ann Snow said in a post on the X platform.
She added: “I returned to Damascus to hold talks with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad al-Shaibani about the regional situation and the transitional phase in Syria.”
President Ahmad al-Sharaa met on Tuesday with British National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and address current regional and international developments.
The President affirmed Syria’s openness to any sincere initiatives that support the security and stability of the region, provided that its sovereignty and independent national decisions are respected.
