Syria, Jordan, USA : Joint statement supports Syria’s stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity

Amman, SANA- The Syrian-Jordanian- American meeting in Amman on Tuesday agreed to form a tripartite working group (Syrian, Jordanian, and American) aimed at supporting the Syrian government in its efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in Sweida Governorate and end the crisis there.

The meeting issued a joint statement saying: “The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan hosted a joint Jordanian-Syrian-American meeting today to discuss the situation in Syria and ways to support the process of rebuilding Syria on foundations that guarantee its security, stability, sovereignty, unity, and non-interference in its affairs, meet the aspirations of its brotherly people, and preserve the rights of all Syrians”.

The meeting, was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad al-Shaibani, US Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey and US Special Envoy for Syria Thomas Bark, and representatives of relevant institutions in the three countries.

Sweida is an Integral Part of Syria

The statement added that the meeting “was a continuation of the discussions hosted by Amman on July 19, 2025, to discuss consolidating the ceasefire in the Sweida Governorate in southern Syria and resolving the crisis there”.

“The participants emphasized that Sweida Governorate, with all its local communities, is an integral part of the Syrian Arab Republic, and that the rights of its people are protected and preserved in the process of rebuilding a new Syria toward a secure and fulfilling future for all citizens of the Syrian state, ensuring their representation and participation in building Syria’s future” the statement said.

Syria’s Steps are Welcomed

According to the statement, “Jordan and the United States welcomed the steps taken by the Syrian government”, including:

– Conducting full investigations and holding accountable all perpetrators of crimes and violations in Sweida Governorate, in addition to its willingness to cooperate with relevant United Nations agencies and involve them in the investigation of the crimes and violations committed.

– Increasing the flow of humanitarian aid to all areas in Sweida Governorate and enhancing its flow, including cooperation with relevant United Nations agencies.

– Intensifying the work of service institutions to restore services disrupted by the events in the governorate.
– Commencing rehabilitation operations in areas affected by the events in the governorate.

– Welcoming the contributions of the international community supporting these efforts and the Syrian government efforts to return displaced persons to their areas.

– Initiating the process of community reconciliation in Sweida Governorate and strengthening civil peace.
– Expressing their welcome for the support and assistance of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the United States of America in this regard.

Forming Tripartite Working Group

“Safadi and Barrack reiterated the Kingdom and the United States’ full support and solidarity with Syria, its security, stability, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens.

They called on the international community to stand with Syria in its efforts to rebuild on the foundations that guarantee its security, stability, sovereignty, and unity, meet the aspirations of its brotherly people, and preserve the rights of all Syrians” the statement said.

It concluded that “The three parties agreed to hold another meeting in the coming weeks to complete the discussions held today, in addition to responding to the Syrian government’s request to form a tripartite working group (Syrian, Jordanian, and American) aimed at supporting the Syrian government in its efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in Sweida Governorate and end the crisis there.”
