Iraqi Prime Minister reiterates Iraq’s support for Syria’s stability and sovereignty.

Baghdad, SANA – Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani reiterated his country’s support for Syria’s stability and sovereignty, Iraq’s rejection to any aggression against Syria.

Al-Sudani reviewed, during his meeting the Syrian Minister of Energy, Eng. Mohammed Al-Bashir, the prospects of bilateral relations between and ways of strengthening them in various fields, particularly in the energy sector, to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

Minister Al-Bashir emphasized the depth of bilateral relations and the opportunities available for cooperation between Syria and Iraq in the fields of energy, the fiber optic cable coming from Europe via Syrian territory, and mutual and joint investment.

They discussed the possibility of reviving the Kirkuk-Banias oil pipeline. Discussions also focused on regulating shared water quotas in the Euphrates River basin.
