Arab League condemns Netanyahu’s ‘Greater Israel vision’ statements

Cairo, SANA – The Arab League  strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent remarks about annexing parts of sovereign Arab states as part of what he called the “Greater Israel Vision,” warning they pose a serious threat to Arab national security and defy international law and legitimacy.

In a statement, the League’s General Secretariat said Netanyahu’s comments reflect “expansionist and aggressive intentions that cannot be accepted or tolerated” and reveal “an extremist mentality steeped in colonial delusions.” The statement said such rhetoric constitutes a violation of the sovereignty of Arab states and an attempt to undermine security and stability in the region.

The League called on the United Nations Security Council to “assume its responsibilities” and confront what it described as extremist positions that fuel instability, heighten tensions, and deepen regional hostility toward the occupying state.

Netanyahu, in a televised interview, linked himself to the so-called “Greater Israel Vision,” claiming it encompasses the occupied Palestinian territories as well as parts of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt — remarks that have drawn sharp criticism from across the Arab world and beyond.
