OIC condemns Netanyahu’s So-Called “Greater Israel Vision” as violation of UN Charter

Jeddah, SANA- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks on the so-called “Greater Israel Vision,” as a “flagrant violation of the principles of international law and UN Charter”.

In a statement published on its official website, the OIC pointed out that these “aggressive statements aim to evade Israel’s international obligations as an occupying power and to continue violating the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people” and their right to self-determination.

Netanyahu has expressed in a recent television interview, his commitment to what he called the “Greater Israel Vision,” claiming that it would include the occupied Palestinian territories and parts of Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt.

The OIC warned of the “danger of this expansionist colonial” speech that poses a threat to regional and international peace and security, fuels the cycle of violence, and expands and prolongs the conflict in the region.

The Organization called on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities in confronting these “aggressive policies, take decisive action to halt the Israeli aggression, and implement the two-state solution”.
