President al-Sharaa Receives Patriarch John X Yazigi, Affirms the Church’s National Role

Damascus, SANA-President Ahmad al-Sharaa received, on Saturday, His Beatitude Patriarch John X Yazigi, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East of the Greek Orthodox Church, at the People’s Palace in Damascus.

During the meeting, the two sides stressed the Church’s national role in consolidating and boosting the bonds of citizenship and national unity, thus contributing to the preservation of civil peace and establishing its foundations on firm bases of understanding and fraternity among the people of the same homeland.
