Hundreds join ‘Stop Starving Gaza’ march in New York

New York, SANA – Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in New York City for the “Stop Starving Gaza” march, organized to draw attention to the worsening humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave.

More than 200 organizations took part in the event, urging an immediate end to the conflict and calling on the U.S. government to halt financial and military support to Israel.

Protesters carried banners demanding justice for Palestinians, as speakers highlighted the urgent need for humanitarian intervention. According to CBS News, the United Nations has reported unprecedented levels of starvation and malnutrition in Gaza, the highest since the outbreak of the conflict.

Humanitarian groups, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), criticized recent U.S. policies, particularly the State Department’s suspension of visitor visas for Gazans. Jim Keady of New Jersey Peace Action described the crisis as a “humanitarian catastrophe,” citing thousands of lives lost and tens of thousands now facing famine.

The demonstrations in New York and Eugene, Oregon, are part of a growing wave of pro-Palestinian activism across the United States, amplifying voices calling for an end to the conflict and greater accountability for human rights violations.

As tensions escalate, Israel has announced plans to relocate Palestinians from Gaza City to so-called “safe zones,” a move widely condemned by rights advocates. Families of Israeli hostages, meanwhile, have called for a national strike, warning that expanding military operations could further endanger lives.

The protests underscore the urgency of addressing Gaza’s humanitarian crisis and the growing momentum of pro-Palestinian advocacy in the U.S., as demonstrators press for justice, relief, and a sustainable path to peace.
