Damascus, SANA – Energy Minister, Eng. Mohamed al-Bashir, said that the electricity supply in Syria will experience a tangible improvement, with a new rationing program that establishes two hours of electricity for every four hours of outage in most provinces.
“This improvement is due to the arrival of quantities of Azerbaijani gas via Turkish territory, destined for generating plants, which has allowed for increased production and the reactivation of several plants that had been shut down or partially operating in recent months,” the Minister said in a statement.
Minister al-Bashir pointed out that the relative decrease in temperatures in recent days has reduced pressure on the grid, making it easier to redistribute the load and optimize distribution schedules.
Al-Bashir stated that efforts will continue in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure the stability of the electrical system and achieve further improvement during the coming period, calling on citizens to rationalize electricity consumption and contribute to supporting the stability of the network.
