UN conference launches ‘New York Declaration’ calling on ending Palestinian-Israeli conflict through the two-state solution

New York, SANA-Participants in the high-level international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution stressed the need to end the war in Gaza Strip, recognize the State of Palestine, and grant it full membership in the United Nations. They noted that the timeframe for achieving a Palestinian state is 15 months.

The final statement issued by the conference, known as the “New York Declaration,” called for an immediate cessation of hostage-taking, the release of all hostages and detainees, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza Strip, urgent opening of all crossings, and unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid, emphasizing the rejection of the blockade and considering the use of starvation as a weapon a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law .

The conference participants agreed to take concrete, time-bound steps toward a peaceful settlement, the implementation of the two-state solution, and the achievement of a Palestinian state, while emphasizing the need for continued international pressure to stop the war and activate diplomatic channels.
