Damascus, SANA – Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed al-Saleh, discussed with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Italian Embassy in Damascus, Stefano Ravanian, ways to enhance cooperation between Syria and Italy in confronting disasters Mediterranean countries.
During the meeting, held on Monday, the two sides stressed the importance of joint coordination and capacity building in the fields of maritime rescue, mine counter, and addressing the increasing droughts in the region.
Ravanian announced yesterday via the X platform that his country will provide an additional €7 million to support initiatives to reintegrate displaced persons and refugees, as part of Italy’s ongoing efforts to support recovery and local development efforts in the country.
